Ashcroft Technology Academy (ADT College)

Ashcroft Technology Academy formerly ADT College was re named in September 2007.

This city technology college has gained itself a good reputation as a specialist school with emphasis on science and technology, the total number of applications is testament to this; 860 applicants for 168 places.

How do you get in?

Although the collage admits girls and boys from across the full range of ability, it does select those it feels demonstrate an aptitude and interest in technology and science. Applications are made directly to the school and are accepted from those living within a maximum four and a half miles of the school.

The following criteria are then applied:
1. That an applicant can demonstrate an aptitude for a CTC style of education. This will be assessed by means of a structured discussion held at the college
2. Only where applicants show an equal aptitude will priority be given to siblings.
3. Those living closest in direct line to the school. Appeals may be made if a place is not offered.
