Showcasing talented independent artists at the Half Moon Putney
Music Makers is a 2-day London-based independent music festival, now in its 3rd year. It’ll be taking place at The Half Moon, in the heart of Putney, on October 5 & 6. One lucky member will win a pair of weekend tickets (value £50) - not a member? Register here before entering the competition. Albert Man and his wife/manager Manoja (the 2-person team behind this intimate festival) have a passion for showcasing talented independent artists. This is clearly shown by the love that goes into curating a fantastic line-up each year. As always, the festival celebrates fellow singer-songwriters from across the UK and Ireland with 14 artists/bands playing a multitude of genres over 2 days with 7 unique performances each day. The format is the same as last year - each artist is interviewed directly after their set at 'Music Makers Corner'. This creates a real buzz in the venue and allows fans to get even closer to the artists.
The festival has quickly become a 'must-attend' event to see up-and-coming singer-songwriters and bands, with one festival goer flying in via private helicopter for last year's event. It has also been championed by BBC London and London Live. Previous year's have included performances from Michele Stodart (The Magic Numbers) and guest appearances from Gavin James. This year's line-up includes multi-award winning and mercury-prize nominated artists who have played some of the UK and Ireland's biggest festivals, received support from Whispering Bob Harris, The BBC, The Guardian and The Independent, and have supported acts such as Macy Gray, Emeli Sande, Hudson Taylor and Public Service Broadcasting. Here's the full line-up (www.musicmakersfestival.com/line-up): Howard Rose, Beauty Sleep, Michele Stodart, Si Connelly, Toshín, Declan Greene, Robbie Cavanagh, Lenny, Albert Man, Josh McGovern, Roisin O’Hagan, Natalie Shay, Soham De, Liam Geddes.
