Local influencers submit priorities for 10-year Local Plan consultation
Putney’s developers, architects and top firms have come up with priorities for the town centre - which includes a second train station entrance, a pedestrianised square at Lacy Road and more cultural spaces to encourage people into the area. Organised by Positively Putney Business Improvement District (BID), the priorities are now being submitted to Wandsworth Council’s 10-year Local Plan consultation.
They include: Nicola Grant, Executive Director of Putney Business Improvement District, said: “Wandsworth Council are putting together their Local Plan for the next 10 years and we got together with local developers, architects, lawyers and other influencers, to discuss our priorities for the area. “I’m excited by the ideas we’ve submitted – they are innovative, practical and will help clean up the high street, reduce congestion and drive footfall to local businesses. Ultimately, with the correct measures our town centre will thrive, and the Business Improvement District will do everything it can to make sure Putney secures much needed facilities like pedestrianised areas, arts spaces and improved cycle parking facilities.” February 22, 2019 |
