Traffic heading back to London after the Christmas period hit with tailbacks

A man in his believed to be in his fifties has been taken to hospital following a collision between a car and a motorbike on the A3 close to Roehampton Lane.

The crash occurred at some time shortly before 11:55am on 27 December

At 2.15pm police were still at the scene and the queues went back towards Raynes Park as many Londoners returned to start work after the holidays.

The male motorcyclist was taken to a south London hospital where he remains in a stable condition. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The female driver was also taken to hospital for treatment and no arrest was made.
