A woman in her forties has died after being hit by a train at Wandsworth Town on Tuesday evening (9 May).
British Transport Police have confirmed that, "A 47-year-old woman has died after she was struck by a train at Wandsworth Town railway station on the evening of May 9th.”
Police and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service were called to the station at 7.15pm, but the woman died at the scene.
The woman’s family have now been told, and British Transport Police are not treating the incident as suspicious. Officers are now preparing a report for the coroner.
There were substantial delays on South West Trains services in the area for the rest of the evening.
