34-year-old, Siobhan Smith is Lord Sugar's latest candidate, to leave the boardroom with her suitcase this week.
This week the teams had to organise a snack stand plus a hospitality event for the Women's FA Cup final at Wembley, which with Siobhan's wedding planning would appear to have been a challenge made for her to PM - in the end this was not to be and was the first loss for the female team.
Siobhan has struggled with her fellow female 'team mates', last week 'team mate' confectioner Sarah Lynn was not sweet in her view, saying that if they lost last weeks challenge, she would "definitely be putting the blame at Siobhan's door, I don't think she contributed anything of value, and therefore she's got to go."
Despite the all ladies team winning the challenge, Lord Sugar criticised them for not working as a team and arguing amongst themselves. Karen Brady felt 'Bad blood in this team is costing them'. Bad feelings continued this week,
The team over-ordered the wine, and this ultimately led to the firing. Siobhan commented: "I lost because I bought too much alcohol. In reality, I would have sold that back, and not made a loss."
Siobhan shared her experience with Lord Sugar and the program with PutneySW15:
Q: What were your highs and lows of the programme?
Siobhan: The highlights were being able to do different projects and tasks that you wouldn’t necessarily do in your normal life. Challenging myself on that aspect was probably one of my highlights. In terms of lows, some of the arguments, and you couldn’t escape after them. In normal life you would be able to escape and get away from the person you were having an argument with, but in this situation you are put in a house and you have to sleep in the same room as them. That was really hard. The incredibly long hours as well as being away from my beautiful daughter and my husband was also very hard.
Q: Is there anything that you would have done differently that might have extended your stay on the programme?
Siobhan: I tried to keep real to myself on the process and do everything the way I could to the best of my ability. For me, I think the client was very happy, I came across as very professional and in all honesty I wouldn’t have changed how I acted and how I did it because in everyday life that’s how I would be. I made a profit and gave a good service, and that was the most important thing for me.
Q: What now for Siobhan Smith?
Siobhan: I’m just planning on growing my wedding planning business in Dubai to the Chinese market. Dubai is a hub in between London and China, so it’s a great place. The Chinese have just started holidaying in Dubai, so going forward we are hopefully looking to bring them to Dubai to get married. I am going to continue with my lifestyle travel blog down the road as well.
Q: What do you like about living in Putney?
Siobhan: I love the fact that Putney is in London. It’s well-connected, which means I can get into London very quickly. I love the fact that we are very close to Richmond Park and also Barnes. We’ve got good shops on our doorstep. I just love it. I find the people living in Putney very nice. They tend to be down to earth rather than pretentious, and I like that.
Q: Where would you recommend a visitor to eat and drink, i.e. what are your favourite restaurants, bars and coffee shops in Putney?
Siobhan: My favourite takeaway on a Friday night is Munal Tandoori, Upper Richmond Road.
