No Cards for Good Causes in Putney Library This Year | ||||
Covid left charities with substantial losses leading to closure of shops
Cards For Good Causes (CFGC) which has been selling charity Christmas cards for over sixty years will not be setting up shop in Putney Library on Disraeli Road this year. The organisation took what has been described as a ‘big hit’ last year due to Covid which resulted in a substantial financial loss to the various charities that it supports. As a result CFGC are only opening 75 of the 300 nationwide shops this year with the hope that more people will buy cards on line. They hope to be able to come back to Putney next year. Volunteer shop manager Angela Holman said, “The Cards for Good Causes team would like to say a huge thank you to both volunteers and customers who have so warmly supported them over the years whilst helping to raise vital funds for charity. They very much hope to be back next year in the heart of the local community.” If you would still like to purchase charity Christmas cards and seasonal gifts whilst helping to raise much-needed funds for charity, you can still do so via their website or visit the Kingston shop in All Saints Church, opposite John Lewis open from 21 October Monday to Saturday 10am to 4pm and Holy Trinity Church, Sloane Street open from 25 October Monday to Saturday 10am to 5.30pm. Charity shops on Putney High Street will also be selling Christmas cards.
