Number of cases remains high in parts of Roehampton

The latest official data is showing that the number of Covid-19 infections in Putney has fallen to relatively low levels.
Data from the Office of National Statistics (ONS) suggests that across the Putney area the rate of infection is below 100 per 100,000 population for the week up to 28 November. The East Putney area has an infection rate of close to 50 per 100,000. There were still 25 cases reported around Putney over the week.
Roehampton still appears to have a higher number of cases with the north west part remaining more affected with 21 cases in this one area during the last week giving a rolling infection rate of 294.5. We have asked Wandsworth Council for an explanation of the prevalence of cases in this area but have not received a response.
The average for the borough of Wandsworth was 103, the seventh lowest in London. Many neighbouring boroughs including Lambeth, Southwark and Richmond also have low levels of infection.
Parts of Kew, Richmond and Twickenham have seen the number of cases fall to levels where the ONS does not publish figures to protect the privacy of individuals. It is possible therefore that there were no cases at all in these areas.
A rate at this level reduces the possibility of London moving up to Tier 3 restrictions however there are higher rates of infection in some east London borough such as Havering, Barking & Dagenham and Redbridge with the latter having nearly three times the rate of infection as Wandsworth.
