The murder enquiry continues after the fatal stabbing of 44 year old Clive Fearon at his flat in Putney.

The man arrested at 14.15 [believed to be in his 30s] in the street in Putney in connection with the inquiry and is in custody at a separate south London police station. He was later bailed to return on 7.2.07 pending further enquiries.

In the early hours of 9th January a second man [believed to be 28 ys] was arrested at a residential address in SW15 in connection with the enquiry and taken to a south London Police Station. He was later bailed to return on 21.2.07 pending further enquiries

A woman [believed to be in her 20s] was arrested nearby shortly afterwards in connection with the inquiry and is in custody at a south London police station. She was later released with no further action.

Police were called at 02.10 on Sunday 7th January by the ambulance service about a man stabbed at a flat in Tatchbury House, Tunworth Crescent, SW15. A man, believed to be in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police await next of kin being informed so cannot yet release his name. A post mortem gave cause of death as multiple stab wounds.

At this early stage police retain an open mind about the circumstances of the man's death, and any motive. They need to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious in the vicinity of the flats in the early hours. At present anyone who can assist is asked to contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
