A 35 year old woman was left with a broken leg after being hit by a 4x4 on the junction between Oxford Road and Disraeli Road. The car was later found abandoned in Putney on Evenwood Close. A 20 year old man was later arrested on suspicion of failing to stop at the scene of an accident and he has been bailed pending further enquiries. The incident occurred on Tuesday 1st May at around 6pm.

The woman was admitted to hospital with a broken leg. She had been cycling south along Oxford Road when the collision occurred with the car which was travelling west towards the High Street. Eye-witnesses report that there was a child seat on the back of the bike but fortunately it was unoccupied at the time of the accident.
