Man's body found on Barnes Common

Twickenham CID is investigating after the body of man was found on Barnes Common at the junction between Rocks Lane and Common Road.

Police were called at 10.54 this morning (10th July) by a member of the public after the body was seen in a wooded area.

The man is white and believed to be approximately in his 50s. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Inquiries are under way to establish his identity and trace possible next of kin.

At this early stage, his death is being treated as suspicious.

The scene remains cordoned off and officers are in attendance.
