Police take details from customers in Putney Canteen

Customers enjoying their lunch at Putney Canteen watched as a gang stole two motorbikes outside the window on Atney Road. (Originally reported as five bikes)

Customers at this popular Putney restaurant told PutneySW15 that the gang banged on the window and gesticulated aggressively at them.

There is discrepancy on timings between the police report and residents who tweeted the event around 1.40pm. The Met have advised us that the Police were called at approximately 5.20pm on Thursday, 19 January to reports of a motorbike stolen in Atney Road, SW15. The theft is said to have occurred sometime between 7am and 4pm that day.
