On Wednesday (2 December) about 1.30pm an individual in black 'leathers' and helmet on a black motorbike mugged a pensioner near Balmuir Gardens.

Acting with great speed, both her bags were grabbed - a black and red handbag and an old canvas bag. Her umbrella was found hanging on a wall in Howard's Lane.

She was not hurt but very shocked and losing her mobile phone has led to complications.

She told this website, "The biggest problem is my mobile since I have been locked out and finding it difficult to get back in. The police have given me a crime number but told me that due to lack of evidence they were taking this no further".
