£25,000 Watch Stolen in Putney Home Invasion | ||||
Masked intruder threatened occupant of house in Gwendolen Avenue
A 52-year-old man was confronted by a masked man in his home in Putney who then stole a rare watch from his wrist. The victim was in the bedroom of his home in Gwendolen Avenue this Friday 24 May when he came face to face with the intruder shortly before 11.40pm. The man, who had covered his face with a skull and cross bones bandana, threatened him and demanded that he hand over the watch worth £25,000. The robber then fled the scene leaving the man uninjured. The ordeal occurred while the victim’s partner, a 48-year-old woman was also at home with her teenage daughter. Neither of them were approached by the intruder. It is believed he may have entered and left the premises through a window. He is described as a white man, aged between 25-40, and of slim build. He was wearing a black hat, black jeans, black top and trainers. The stolen watch is a Chopard LUC 18ct white gold Limited Edition strap watch, number 298 of 1860. It has a black face and black crocodile strap. Detectives from South West Command Unit are urging jewellers and watch collectors to keep an eye out for the stolen item and to contact officers immediately if it is offered for sale. Anyone with information is asked to call the South West Command Unit CID on 07557 313 090. Alternatively, call 101 or tweet @MetCC quoting CAD 9424/24MAY19.
