Police assume extra powers after at least two men injured

At least two men have suffered stab wounds in what is believed to be an outbreak of gang violence in the Putney area. The police have assumed extra powers to stop and search to contain any additional problems.
A man was stabbed this Thursday morning (12 September) at the Royal Mail Delivery Office on Burston Road, Putney. Police say they were called to the depot at 10.42am.
Witnesses told them hat a male had been stabbed and then left the scene in a white saloon car. A crime scene has been put in place.

At 10.48am, police were called to Eastleigh Walk in Roehampton by the London Ambulance Service (LAS) to reports of a fight. When police arrived attended they found a man believed to be in his twenties, with stab injuries. He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital. Police await an update on his condition.
A crime scene has been put in place at Eastleigh Walk which is about a mile and a half from Burston Road.
Shortly after 11.10am a man, believed to be in his twenties, entered a south London hospital with a stab wound. He was admitted for treatment. His condition has been assessed as non-life threatening. Police have arrested him on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. It is not known whether he is the man reported to have been injured in the Burston Road attack.
At this early stage, the three incidents are believed to be linked. These events have triggered a section 60 order to be put in place across the whole of Wandsworth and Barnes and Mortlake in Richmond until 2.45am on Friday, 13 September.
