Doverhouse Singers' performances will be available to all

After months of lockdown the Doverhouse Singers, making the most of the warmer weather and easing restrictions, will be going on tour to bring cheer to some of the sheltered housing residents around SW15.
For those who have missed attending their Summer and Christmas concerts, weather permitting, you might be able to catch them Chattanooga Choo Choo-ing around Hepplestone Close (21 July), Grosse Way (4 August), St Margaret’s Court (11 August) and Glenthorpe (18 August).
Starting at 7.30pm and running for about half an hour all the events will be outdoors so any one passing by can listen.
A spokesperson for the group said, “Be rest assured we Ain’t Misbehavin at any level and will be adhering to the current coronavirus regulations every step of the way.”
They are hoping for a particularly Lovely Day on 28 July which they have set aside for a Sing ‘n’ Swig in St Margaret’s Church Garden where from 8.00pm people are welcome to bring drinks and nibbles and enjoy some time together.
“If you have not been to choir,“ says Carl Speck their Musical Director “now is the time to join! We are singing some light-hearted pieces ‘karaoke-style’ so there is no need to have attended recent sessions. Our focus is coming together and sharing some songs and smiles.”
When they are not on tour their rehearsals are currently taking place in St Margaret’s Church Garden at 8.00pm on Wednesday evenings with the option to Zoom in being left open for those who, for whatever reason, are unable to come along in person.
