Popular children's play centre shuts down after 13 years on the High Street
Eddie Catz Putney will be closing its doors on 25 November according to the group website.
The site states that "after 13 years, 15,000 birthday parties, 1.5 million customers, half a million cups of coffee, and about 30,000 Eddie visits and it’s time for us to say goodbye to Putney High Street".
Eddie Catz was founded in 2005 and is a privately owned company - the website states that the Earlsfield and Wimbledon Colliers Wood branches will remain open.

In a message to past and present users of the facility they said, "Thank you to all our customers for putting smiles on our faces, celebrating birthdays with us, dancing with Eddie and making our jobs so much fun!"
We have asked the company to comment as to the decision to close the Putney branch which is located in the empty store that Halfords vacated this summer. In August 2017 former director
Darren Johnson was sentenced to sixteen months for voyeurism offences, however none of these offences occurred at the Putney play centre. Darren Johnson was not involved in the business after his arrest.
British Land's plans for site in 2015
The site has been up for redevelopment since 2015, when British Land applied for 97 homes to be built at 56-70 Putney High Street - Wandsworth council rejected the application but the Boris Johnson who was Mayor of London at the time over ruled this decision, tweeting at the time "the Mayor's role was 'to fight for Londoners who need homes' and he described the the plans as a "good scheme". However the site is now owned by M&G and Barclays are currently refurbishing their branch located in the site, which implies the site will not be redeveloped anytime soon.
