Works commenced on site on 18 February. The first phase of works centres around the toilets and baby care facilities on the first floor. These are due to come live in early May.

On opening of the new facilities, the existing toilets will be closed and will be incorporated into the new H&M store that will form an integral part of the new facade to the shopping centre.

Work has commenced in readiness for the internal alterations in the Centre by the erection of a high level scaffold access deck. This will be enclosed and dressed in graphics and signage.
Scaffolding has also commenced in Putney High Street in preparation of the alterations to the front of the Centre and the demolition of the former Thomas Cook and Millets shops The scaffolding is being undertaken overnight to minimise disruption on Putney High Street. Demolition is due to commence later this month.

The existing stained glass feature is being taken down for restoration and subsequent refixing.

The Remodeled Shopping Centre

At the end of construction in November the Exchange Shopping Centre will be the focal point of Putney High Street with a new contemporary façade on Putney High Street. The extension will create an additional retail unit for a new H&M store, new toilet and baby care facilities and additional car parking including electric vehicle charging points.
