The Falcons School for Girls is pleased to announce that it will provide two new scholarships of 20 per cent of annual school fees, for September 2017 entrants to the school.

The scholarships will be awarded on academic merit by the school and will cover the entire education course (until Year 6), providing satisfactory academic performance is maintained. The scholarships are available to pupils entering the school at any age from Reception to Year 3.

The families of scholarship recipients, who are in financial need, will also be able to apply for a bursary of up to an additional 80 per cent of school fees. The bursaries, and the level at which they are provided in any one year, will be decided on, awarded and funded by The Gold Standard Charitable Trust. The bursaries are to support academically bright girls who win a scholarship but whose families may need further financial support in order to attend the school.

Parents who wish to be considered should in the first instance advise the school of their intention to apply for one of the scholarships during the process of applying for a place at The Falcons School for Girls.

Mrs Sophia Ashworth Jones, Headmistress, The Falcons School for Girls, says, “We are delighted to be making these scholarships available. Parents choose our school because of our excellent history of care and academic success and we hope these scholarships will see this offering extended to a new generation of girls and their families. Interested parents can contact the school to discuss the process of making an application.”

Tom Robertson, Administrator, The Gold Standard Charitable Trust, comments, “The Gold Standard Charitable Trust is determined to help children from all backgrounds to enjoy an outstanding education. We want to identify untapped talent irrespective of parental means and in the process change lives for the better.”
