Fleur Anderson met with King Charles this week at a special reception for MP’s in Westminster Hall this week ahead of the coronation.
The Putney MP told the King of the numerous events being held in her constituency when introduced to him during a royal visit to Parliament on Tuesday 2 May.
Ms Anderson said, “When I met with King Charles this week, I told him of all the brilliant events that I’ve already attended, and the many planned in Putney, Roehampton and Southfields to mark Coronation Day. He was delighted that communities are coming together across our area to mark this historic day. I am always deeply impressed by the generosity and enthusiasm of our local communities, and look forward to visiting as many events as possible.”
The details of some of the events happening in the area include those listed below:
Friday 5 May
• 4-6pm: Roehampton Coronation Singalong Party at Manresa Club Room, Alton Sheltered Housing, Fontley Way, SW15 4NF. Join a sing-along party with tea, cakes and sandwiches and guest Britain’s Got Talent runner up Wayne Woodward.
Saturday 6 May • 11am till late: Ram Quarter, Wandsworth High Street. More than twenty delicious street food options, fun, games and prizes.
• 3:30-4:30pm: Putney Vale Coronation Celebration, Newlands Hall, Newlands Hall Stroud Crescent London SW15 3EP hosted by Putney Vale Residents Association. Enjoy donkey rides, a petting zoo, face painting, lawn games, a quiz and fancy dress.
Sunday 7 May
• 12:30pm: Southfields Triangle Residents Association Coronation Street Party, 60 Pulborough Road, SW18 5UJ.
• 1:30-2:30pm: Granard Avenue Street Party, Granard Avenue, SW15 6HH.
• 2:30-3:30: Galveston Road Coronation Street Party, Galveston Road, SW15 2RZ. • 3:30-4:30pm: Southfields Grid Senior Tea Party, St Barnabas Church, 146 Lavenham Road, SW18 5EP. Residents can join for tea, singers, a raffle and Southfields-themed quiz. • 8:15-9:45pm: Wimbledon and Putney Commons Coronation Celebrations, Roehampton War Memorial. Join a piper-led walk to the windmill followed by a ‘formal’ celebration, culminating in the illumination of the windmill (as part of the “’Lighting Up the Nation”, the national illumination of iconic buildings)

Monday 8 May
• 12-4pm: Positively Putney Celebration, Church Square. Arts and crafts from 12pm to 3pm, balloon modeller, circus activities, King and Queen fancy dress parade at 3pm.
• 2-5pm: The London Mosque Ahmadiyya Celebrations, Fazl Mosque, 16 Gressenhall Road, London, SW18 5QL.
Thursday 11 May
• 4pm – 5pm: Downshire Field, Bull Green, Alton Estate, London SW15 4DY Join the Mayor of Wandsworth for the burial of the Alton Time Capsule to commemorate the Coronation of King Charles III. Refreshments will be served.
