It was only in October last year that Joe won his first ATP 500 tournament in Vienna - but 2019 is showing promise of great things to come. In the Roland-Garros French Open Joe, ranked 24 and his American partner Rajeev Ram got to the quarter finals, and last weekend they reached the finals at the Fever-Tree Championships over the river in Fulham.

They faced fellow Roehampton Club member Andy Murray (ranked 194) and partner Feliciano Lopez who has just won the Singles title. Murray and Lopez took 2019 doubles champions title , beating Ram and Salisbury 7-6, 5-7, 10-5.

So now Joe and his partner Rajeev Ram will be looking to SW19 and the Doubles Champions title at Wimbledon 2019.

Marc Newey - Roehampton Club

Marc Newey, the CEO of Roehampton Club told PutneySW15: "We could see that Joe Salisbury, playing with his family at Roehampton Club from a very young age, was always going to be a star player. Reaching the Wimbledon semi-final last year and Queen’s Club Final this year is hopefully the spring board for greater things. He regularly plays for our 1st team. Andy Murray played at the Club 20 years ago in his early career and has now re-joined to play golf and practice his tennis. Wonderful for fellow Members to have such a superstar doing sit ups in the gym next to you or hitting on the next court."

The first time this website reported on Joe, he was the schoolboy who gave HRH the Queen a tennis racket when she opened the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton in 2007.
