Jim Maddan is one of four Putney residents to be included in Queen's New Years List
Thamesfield Councillor Jim Maddan has received an OBE in the New Years Honours list for his role as a Neighbourhood Watch Volunteer - for services to Policing and Community Safety in London. He told PutneySW15:
'This is a very great honour and reflects the importance of stronger communities throughout Wandsworth, London and nationally. Community cohesion is vital to ensure that the elderly and isolated can live longer in their own homes, where their quality of life and life expectancy is much greater'.
Also honoured with an OBE (Medallist of the Order of the British Empire) this year are:
Mr Kenny Brown - Governor of Wandsworth Prison for services to HM Prison Service.
Mrs Charlotte Anne Grobein pictured left - for charitable services to children and young people in Wandsworth. Through her property company ‘Give it Away’, Charlotte has transformed the lives of disabled children supported by the charity - funding vital mobility equipment and skills training to help them reach their full potential. Charlotte received the Role of Honour Badge from Wandsworth Council in February this year for her donations exceeding £170,000 to the charity Whizz-Kidz.
Mrs Katharine Riddell Pugh Chief Executive, The Heritage Alliance - for services to Heritage.
