The Putney Society has issued a statement congratulating the local residents who have made the Beijing Olympics the most successful for Britain since the Second World War.
Chairman John Ewing said, " Putney is proud of a great achievement by everybody."
Local Olympians include:
James Clarke – fifth – Lightweight men’s four
Alison Knowles – finalist – Women’s eight
Elise Laverick – Bronze medal - Women’s Double Sculls
Annie Vernon – Silver Medal – Women’s Four
Matthew Wells – Bronze Medal – Mens Double sculls
