Putney Goes Nutcrackers for Christmas | |
Five life-sized dolls to be displayed in local shops and businesses Positively Putney's theme this Christmas is the Nutcracker. From Monday 22 November five life sized nutcrackers will be displayed within Putney businesses. On Friday 19 November in Church Square, Sunday 28 November in Putney Exchange and Saturday 4 December in Putney Hotel Positively Putney will be staging free performances of the Nutcracker Story. An in person Christmas Light Switch-On takes place this Friday 19 November. There will be live performances from local schools, and performance groups, compered by Riverside Radio. There will also be festive stalls offering festive food, treats and drinks. The lights will be turned on at 6.00pm by the magical Sugarplum Fairy herself. Come to St Mary’s Church Square on Putney High Street from 4.00pm until 7.30pm. Positively Putney has limited stall numbers this year and arranged the layout to enable lots of space so you do not have to be concerned about overcrowding. The Upper Richmond Road Christmas Fayre will take place on Saturday 4 December between 11am - 3pm. Taking place on Upper Richmond Road, an area known for its independent businesses, there will be stalls from over 20 of Putney’s businesses, as well as live music and free children’s shows of The Nutcracker in The Platform at Putney Hotel, performed by the wonderful Storystock. This year the Christmas Fayre coincides with Small Business Saturday; a day where people are encouraged to support their local small shops, cafes and restaurants. Make sure you do your bit and support your Putney businesses.
