Planning Guidance Offers Protection For Pubs

It became apparent that The Railway on the Upper Richmond Road had three unwanted guests on Tuesday (26th January) evening when two paying punters tweeted that they had seen three mice in the pub and, according to one tweet, staff appeared unperturbed.

Unlike the Myles Rudge "A Windmill in Old Amsterdam" hit in 1965 for Ronnie Hilton, the mice are neither wearing clogs nor welcome. Wetherspoon spokesman Eddie Gershon said: “ We can confirm that a few mice were spotted in the upstairs bar area of the pub last night (Tuesday).
We have already alerted our pest management team and they started treatment immediately last night and have also visited the pub this morning to investigate fully.

“We would like to let our customers know that we are taking all necessary action to eradicate the problem. The pub is open as usual.”
