Saturday 18th April marks the biggest national event on the music calendar as independent record shops across the country celebrate Record Store Day 2015.

Soul Brother Records, situated on Keswick Road, Putney will of course be joining in the celebrations with a live performance from Swedish Jazz singer Cecilia Stalin who will also be signing copies of her RSD release The Story of love, in store between 3 pm and 4 pm. There will be a party atmosphere in store as owner Laurence celebrates his 60th Birthday on the day.

Laurence Prangnell of Soul Brother Records said:
“Record store day has become the single most important day to our business. Not only do we have 200+ exclusive limited edition new releases to sell, but there is a great atmosphere in the store on the day and a sense of community. Throughout the year we have people travel to our store from all over the country and the world for our specialist Soul and Jazz music. On Record store day we see a lot of local people who come to support the store, and help to ensure that we are still here for the next year.”

Soul Brother Records have teamed up with their neighbours The Beer Boutique who are offering entry into a draw to win some Anspach & Hobday beer for all Record Store Day customers.

And in true Record Store Day style, Soul Brother Records will also be stocking a huge range of limited edition vinyl records exclusive to independent record shops as well as four releases from their own label. Doors open at 8 am with queues expected to emerge from the early hours, so arrive early to avoid disappointment!

2015 will see the eighth celebration of the UK's unique independent sector. RSD is the one day that all of the independently owned record shops come together with artists to celebrate the art of music. Special vinyl and CD releases and various promotional products are made exclusively for the day and hundreds of artists across the globe make special appearances and performances. Festivities include performances, meet & greets with artists, DJ's, in store quizzes and many other events. To see what exclusives will be made available this year, head over to the RSD website: www.recordstoreday.co.uk.

Soul Brother Records will be kicking off their celebrations at 8 am, 1 Keswick Road, Putney, London, SW15 2HL.
