Housebuilder Redrow supports local youth and community charity Regenerate

Wandsworth Council’s housebuilding partner in Roehampton, Redrow, has donated £1,000 to the charity Regenerate, which is currently focused on supporting the local community through the Coronavirus pandemic.

With schools and youth clubs not providing daily meals and activities, Regenerate has teamed up with local schools and organisations to provide free food and resource packages for those most in need.

Redrow’s donation is just one of almost 80 received to date. Cllr Kim Caddy, Cabinet Member for Housing for Wandsworth Borough Council, described both the donation and the work of Regenerate as a ‘shining example' of communities coming together to help each other during difficult times: "I have been overwhelmed by the kindness, diligence and generosity I have seen across our borough during these unprecedented times,” she said.

“We may have some way to go before things return to normal, but I’m sure myself and others will never forget how our communities rallied around to give support where it was most needed. The ongoing work of Regenerate, and this kind donation by our housing partner in Roehampton, are just two examples of that. I’d like to place on record how grateful we all are for the continued support being shared within our communities.”

Housebuilder Redrow is currently working in partnership with Wandsworth Council on the proposed Alton Estate regeneration scheme, which will see the delivery of over 1,100 new affordable and private homes as well as a range of amenities for new and existing residents.
