Phelan Hill coxed his eight to gold at Rio

Putney resident Phelan Hill part of the Leander Boat Club’s coxed the men’s eight to win the Men Eight at Rio 2016. In London 2012 he coxed the team that achieved a bronze.

Talking to John Inverdale & the BBC at the end of the race Phelan said:
'So different from four years ago. We controlled it from the start'.

The full crew were: Paul Bennett, Scott Durant, Matt Gotrel, Matt Langridge, Will Satch, Tom Ransley, Pete Reed, Andrew Hodge and cox Phelan Hill.
