Sara Williams-Ryan to take charge of Falcons School for Girls
Falcons School for Girls has appointed Sara Williams-Ryan as head teacher from September 2018. She will also be overseeing the new Peregrines Pre-Preparatory due to open on the same site this year. She will join the Putney-based school, from her role of Assistant Head (Pastoral) at Emanuel School in Wandsworth where she has been a member of the Senior Management Team for 13 years.
Prior to taking on the Assistant Head role at Emanuel School, Mrs Williams-Ryan started her career as Head of Spanish. She was promoted to Head of Modern Foreign Languages and then Senior Tutor for Girls. Before her time at Emanuel School, Mrs Williams-Ryan taught at Ibstock Place School for nine years where she was Head of Spanish and MFL. She is also a Governor of Christ Church Primary School in Battersea. She is an Arts graduate (Licence ès Lettres) from the University of Geneva and has obtained a PGCE and MA in Education. As a keen linguist, Mrs Williams-Ryan loves keeping up to date with French and Spanish literature. She is also passionate about music and dance. She said, “I am delighted to be taking on the headship at an exciting time for Falcons School for Girls as they launch Peregrines Pre-Preparatory. The school has a reputation for academic excellence, the children are confident, cheerful and motivated, the staff knowledgeable, positive, kind and creative, with high expectations, and the facilities are superb.” Opening in September 2018, Peregrines is a co-ed Pre-Preparatory School which shares Falcons School for Girls’ location and where boys and girls aged 3 to 8 will be admitted. After Peregrines, Falcons School for Girls and Falcons School for Boys offer places to pupils at Year 4.
