Rehearsals begin for a concert to be held in March

On Monday February 2nd the 1885 Singers begin their rehearsals for a concert in March in which they will be performing Beethoven's Mass in C and the incredible 40 part motet 'Spem in Alium ' by Thomas Tallis.

The choir gives four concerts a year, with usually a five week rehearsal period. It is a community choir in every respect, with an open invitation to anyone who wants to join in.

They say, "Do come and sing with us ; singing has been proven to enhance the health of your body and mind."

The next concert is on Sunday 22nd March 7. 30pm at All Saints Church, Putney.

The 1885 Singers was founded in 1997 and has grown in both size and reputation, covering a range of repertoire.
