Events Taking Place in SW15 for Christian Aid Week | ||||
Churches Together in Putney and Roehampton focused on food poverty
The theme for Christian Aid Week this year is around ending food poverty, focusing on the fact that millions of people are going hungry. Churches Together in Putney and Roehampton have put together a website to raise awareness and fundraise. People can simply donate or attend fund raising activities to help them reach their target of £8,000. Christian Aid is a charity with virtually no overheads (as it uses volunteers from Churches of all denominations in the UK). It campaigns and works with local organisations, of any faith, to help those most in need. It is helping families in areas suffering from climate change that has caused drought, by teaching people how to grow drought-resistant crops and set up effective irrigation, helping their communities thrive. Christian Aid Week this year takes place from 15-21 May There are three events taking place locally on Saturday 21 May
If you can’t make it along you can still donate through the Churches Together in Putney and Roehampton JustGiving page.
