Traditional carols around a Christmas Tree with members of the Thames
Philharmonic
Choir
Following the resounding success and fantastic attendance at last year’s event, the Doverhouse Lions* and Roehampton Playing Fields Community Trust+ are holding another Christmas carols community evening. This will take place at Roehampton Playing Fields, Doverhouse Road on Friday 20th December from 17.30 to 20.00. There will be traditional carol singing around the Christmas tree, accompanied by members of the Thames Philharmonic Choir, with refreshments served and a special visit from Father Christmas. The festive community event is family friendly, open to all and free of charge. If guests are able, they are asked to bring donations of Christmas goodies and wrapped gifts for children (indicating age and gender) which will be distributed to the food bank and to local families struggling to make ends meet. Members of the Trust and the Lions will be on hand to share the progress that has been made over the last year, such as the big spruce up of the pavilion, to discuss their plans to safeguard the future of the Playing Fields and to explain how local people can support the campaign for the Playing Fields to be run by the community for the community. Don’t forget your Christmas jumper! *
