Record breaking , round the world yachtswoman to speak in Putney
Tracy Edwards shot to International fame in 1989 when she skippered the first all female crew to sail around the world. She was awarded Sportswoman of the Year and an MBE in 1990. Tracy, who lives in Putney, is a best-selling author, motivational speaker and is the founder of ‘Safer World Training’, which is located at the Tracy Edwards Academy on Putney Embankment. Safer World Training run outstanding, supportive training events in online and personal safety and travel for all ages and levels of ability. Their training is delivered by the UK’s leading experts in internet and personal safety at their state-of-the art premises in Putney. They also offer bespoke training for companies, organisations and groups. “I started this company because this is the training I wanted for my friends and family. The amount of information available concerning internet and personal safety is overwhelming and almost impossible for one person to assimilate,” says Tracy. She adds: “My ethos when sailing around the world was that it is better to be prepared than scared”.
