Feel Good Festival to Take Place in Roehampton | |||||
Sport, chickens, history and live music all part of the entertainment
This year’s Feel Good Festival in Roehampton promises a wide range of attractions including live music, food, sports, local history and chickens. It is taking place at Danebury Avenue Green on the afternoon of Saturday, 29 July. The Feel Good Festival has been running for more than a decade and is organised by local charities Regenerate and Regenerate: RISE with sponsors including Redrow Homes and the Roehampton Club. Paradise Co-op will be helping local young people learn outdoors skills and responsibilities, and Roehampton Students Union's Growhampton initiative will bring along their free range chickens to help illustrate food sustainability. Hundreds of older people from the area will be served a cream tea in a marquee, while Wandsworth University of the 3rd Age (U3A) will stage an exhibition exploring Roehampton’s contribution to the First World War and the stories of the 51 local residents who went off to fight. The Roehampton Club is set to provide tennis-themed activities, along with football fun from Chelsea FC’s Kicks programme. Local people attending will also be able to meet Redrow Homes, the council’s partner for the regeneration of Roehampton’s Alton estate, and find out more about how to get involved in forthcoming public consultations on design and other matters. Volunteers are always welcome to assist in setting up, hospitality, stewarding and clearing away afterwards - if you’d like to help out, please contact Mari Day on (020) 3195 9607 or by email at Mari@regenerateuk.co.uk.
