The Fabularium comes to Putney's Church Square to perform in the Wandsworth Fringe

Following the success of The Town Band of Bremen in Borough Market in 2014, The Fabularium will return to London to take part in the Wandsworth Fringe, presenting an exciting new tale: Reynard the Fox.

The tale of Reynard the Fox follows the woodlands most infamous scoundrel who prides himself on being the trickster of the forest. But when the Woodland Court announces the theft of the King’s Crown Jewels the animal kingdom immediately blames the fox. Reynard must do everything he can to prove his innocence and avoid certain death, as well as maintaining his devious persona. Will the gift of his silver tongue be a shade too bright against his roguish red fur to save his own tail?

The Fabularium will be featuring as part of the Wandsworth Fringe’s in St Mary’s Church Square, Putney.

Joshua Patel, joint-company director of The Fabularium, expressed his excitement and how the company are feeling about bringing more work to London:
“The Wandsworth Fringe is a very popular Fringe Festival with a wide selection of acts, and we’re thrilled to be a part of it, especially the Hidden Heathbrook program which will be a great chance for audiences to enjoy a wide selection of free performances all in one location in one afternoon! We’re hoping our performances in London will be the start of more opportunities for us in the capital.”

Patel went on to explain that one of The Fabularium’s key goals is to encourage participation in the Arts across the country:
“The Fabularium isn’t just a theatre company, it’s a social enterprise with aims to encourage participation in the arts. We can achieve this by presenting free accessible art in public spaces where the arts are deprived. The Wandsworth Fringe has given us a valuable opportunity to reach that aim in London. We’re thrilled about these performances.”

Reynard the Fox is a new piece of engaging theatre for family audiences of all ages, using The Fabularium’s unique aesthetic, strong imagery and all performed upon their traditional wooden cart. It features storytelling, puppetry, original live music and The Fabularium’s bespoke animal headpieces.
