Find out more if you qualify for shared ownership scheme in the borough

First time buyers who live or work in the borough of Wandsworth can get free advice on home ownership at this month's Open the Door 2017.

The event is organised by the council's Home Ownership Team for first time local buyers with a a maximum household income of £90,000.

You will be able to meet with the Home Ownership Team which manages a list of eligible Wandsworth buyers. Many of the new affordable homes being built in Wandsworth can be purchased on shared ownership terms but you must first be registered on the Home Ownership Team’s list.

Open the Door also offers advice to council tenants wishing to explore their housing options, including information on House Purchase Grants, Right to Buy and Right to Part Buy. Wandsworth's Housing Lettings team will also be available to answer enquiries from Council tenants who wish to transfer into another more suitable property.

Local housing providers and Independent financial and legal advisors will be on hand to give personal advice on mortgages and the buying process.
