What is National Poetry Day?

National Poetry Day, the annual mass celebration of poetry and all things poetical, will mark its 21st birthday on Thursday 8 October 2015.

Putney Library has three events to share with residents of all ages:

Putney Poetry Slam
4-5pm
In partnership with Putney High School. Calling all wannabe Wordsworths,wispy bohemians ,proto-comedians, ranting hipsters and perfectly normal people who happen to write poetry...express yourself and win chocolate!
No entry fee.Just turn up....


Putney Verse Workshop
5-6.30pm
In partnership with Putney Verses.Help compose an on the spot poem
All welcome!

Poetry Prom
6.30 -7.30pm
Performance workshop with award winning poet Chris Tutton.
Whether you are new to poetry or familiar with performance, you will be welcomed
All ages!
