On Tuesday 25 February The Port Of London Authority (PLA) are holding their next public meeting to discuss current and future matters related to the Upper District of the tidal Thames (Putney to Teddington) at the London Rowing Club.

It is taking place London Rowing Club, Putney Embankment, SW15 1LB from 6.30pm.

The meeting will be chaired by PLA chief executive, Robin Mortimer, the PLA’s CEO, with chief harbour master, Bob Baker. Members of the Upper District Harbour Master’s team, together with experts in planning and environment will be on hand.

A presentation by Mr Mortimer will be followed by a question and answer session, giving members of the public a chance to raise matters of interest. Potential questioners are asked to register the topic they want to discuss in advance via theo.albanis@pla.co.uk. This will enable the PLA to ensure that the relevant in-house experts are on hand to answer the matters raised.

Robin Mortimer said, “With so much happening on the river in 2020, its important for us to keep local updated.

“It’s always useful to get their perspective on our works and the projects we are involved with, such as the Thames Tideway Tunnel and the development of Fulham Football Club’s new stadium.

“We genuinely want to hear what issues are on people minds and how we can help, so I hope there will be a good turn-out.”

Other subjects on the agenda include an update on the PLA’s work to achieve the Thames Vision 2035 goals, a programme designed to maximise the social, economic and recreational value if the river, whilst protecting the environment.

Refreshments will be available from 6pm.

Similar public meetings for the middle and lower reaches of the tidal River Thames will follow later in the year.
