Nicholas Redman To Give Talk on 'Arnold Bennett's Putney'
Friends of Putney Library hosting talk on novelist's connections with the area

The Friends of Putney Library are re-starting their popular talks and events series in March.
The first event is a talk about the novelist Arnold Bennett and his connection with Putney, which features in his novel 'Buried Alive'.
The novel was illustrated by artist Moira Stephenson, whose family have donated the artist's proofs to Putney Library. The Friends of Putney Library have framed some that are now on display, and are fundraising to frame and display others.
The talk is entitled 'Arnold Bennett's Putney' and will be given by Nicholas Redman of the Arnold Bennett Society.
It will take place at Putney Library on 9 March, beginning at 6.30pm ( Refreshments from 6pm). Entry is free but donations towards framing the proofs are welcome. You can book a ticket from the Library by telephoning 020 8780 3085 or by email to charlene.coleman@gll.org .

The Friends of Putney Library aim to protect, enhance and promote the role of the library in the community. Since their launch in 2013, they have organised several talks each year by authors and other speakers on a wide range of subjects, both of local and wider interest.
