Two Hustings Events Being Held for Local Wards | ||||
Putney Society is hosting debates with council election candidates
The Putney Society has organised two hustings events covering four local wards to be contested in the forthcoming local elections. Candidates for the Thamesfield and East Putney ward have been invited to come to the Community Church on Werter Road on Monday 11 April at 7.30pm. It is expected that there will be candidates representing Conservatives, Labour, Green and Liberal Democrats. The Chair will take questions after the candidates have made their pitch. Due to facilities at the Community Church, this husting can be watched online via Zoom although it will not be possible to ask questions online. To obtain online joining instructions email registration@putneysociety.org.uk The second event covers the Roehampton and West Putney Wards and is being held at the Holy Trinity Church, Roehampton, on Wednesday 13 April at 7.30pm. Once again, candidates from all the main parties are expected to attend and the format will be the same as the previous meeting. All are welcome to attend both meetings but consideration for the speakers and other members of the audience is requested. The Society is reminding residents that there have been boundary changes since the last election and are advising anyone planning to attend to check which ward they reside in to ensure they are at the right meeting.
