Fundraising event at The London Rowing Club
A Putney based supporter, volunteer and local artist, has offered to help SPEAR organise a fundraising Art Fair on Sunday 27 January from 11am to 4pm, which will raise awareness as well as funds within Wnadsworth.
The good folk at London Rowing Club have donated a space and various artists are donating works of all kinds.
A spokesperson for the charity said: "We do, however, need more donations of paintings, drawings, prints, sketches, ceramics to sell as affordable art on the day. If people are having a New Year's clear out at home and have saleable pictures they would like to donate, then this would really help".
Putney School of art and SW15 Social Drawing group are donating some works, so there will definitely be some interesting fare to browse and buy.
www.spearlondon.org is a charity founded just over 30 years ago in Richmond which aims to support those experiencing homelessness on their journey to independence. Because of the huge increase in homelessness in recent years, SPEAR services (rough sleeper outreach, supported accomodation, skills development, tenancy support, homeless health link) have expanded to cover a further four London boroughs: Kingston, Merton, Sutton and Wandsworth - Wandsworth being the borough from within which SPEAR receives most rough sleeper referrals.
Donors should contact supporters@spearlondon.org or call Joy on 07917 644466. Donation deadline is Friday 25 January.
