Join the Regatta London race if you row, kayak, canoe or paddle board
It’s time to take over the Thames on Sunday 29 September with Regatta London, the UK’s newest and most exciting mass participation paddle sports event. Regatta London is the first event of its kind and will play host to a ground breaking day that will see rowing, kayaking, canoeing and stand up paddle boarding coming together on the River Thames. Regatta London offers a unique experience of the nation’s capital city, with no other non-racing boats and no tide thanks to the planned closure of the Thames Barrier. Paddlers will get an incredible viewpoint of some of London’s most famous landmarks as they either row 14 miles or paddle 12 miles through the heart of London. There are two iconic routes are available, based on the level of experience - The London Crossing (starting near Hammersmith and finishing in Greenwich), and The Big Ben Challenge (looped course from Putney to Big Ben and back). With the environment at the event’s core, Regatta London will champion the benefits the river brings to the capital and why it deserves more care, attention and investment. The largest natural space in London will play host to this transformational paddle sports event. What can you expect? Please note: this event is free to watch, but please find out more about how to take part here
