Planning Inspectorate Refuses Residents' Appeal In Battle Over Riverside Land |
Application to change use of the controversial section of park fails Wandsworth Council has turned down the developer's appeal against the earlier refusal of a controversial application to convert part of Wandsworth Park into private gardens. Thamesfield councillor John Locker thanks Friends of Wandsworth Park when he tweeted after the application was denied:
In August 2017 The Friends of Wandsworth Park (FoWP) had successful applied for Asset of Community Value (ACV) status for the section of the park which allowed them to delay the sale or leasing of the land should the Council decide to proceed. An ACV in England is land or property of importance to a local community which is subject to additional protection from development under the Localism Act 2011. May 20, 2018 |
