Who's Who
David Musker is the Borough Commander for Wandsworth Borough.
"On 21st June 2010, I was privileged to be appointed as the Borough Commander for Wandsworth, a command that I have previously served upon as a Constable.
I recognise the achievements of the last three years of Ch. Supt. Stewart Low and all the officers of this borough and will strive to build on this foundation that have made Wandsworth the safest inner London Borough.
My key personal objectives are:
i. Reducing crime and anti social behaviour by arresting and convicting offenders - the relentless and remorseless pursuit and targeting of those who harm our communities.
ii. Policing with professionalism, commitment and respecting diversity - a policing culture of 'first time right'. Ensuring that 'every contact counts' and that 'every contact is an opportunity'. Having a culture of striving to demonstrate 'fair treatment and engagement' with our communities. Policing efficiently, effectively and managing risk.
iii. Confidence and leadership - improving the confidence of our partners, our communities and staff in order to deliver quality policing to all the communities of Wandsworth; ‘explaining what we do and why we do it’.
My personal aims build on the Wandsworth Police vision and values; namely, 'to deliver a service that achieves high service user satisfaction and retains high public confidence, through:
1. Leadership - We will take responsibility for delivering on our strategic aims and objectives.
2. Making every contact count - We will understand service users' (victims, witnesses, etc.) needs and expectations and deliver an agreed service.
3. Safeguarding the community - We will manage risk by supporting vulnerable people and managing dangerous people, by managing private and public spaces and tackling serious acquisitive crime.
4. Tackling local priorities - We will engage with communities, understand and tackle their local policing priorities (including anti social behaviour).
5. Working with community and partners - We will mobilise the joint resources of our partners and communities to tackle common community safety issues, through a problem solving process.
The partnership of the police, communities and statutory partners in Wandsworth is strong and vibrant. We will continue to strive to ensure that we work together as a team to make Wandsworth safer and deliver the best possible policing to the people we serve."
