'Ethical' Coffee Shop Chain Comes to Putney | ||||
Esquires to open its first 'Coffee & Kitchen' outlet on Putney Bridge Road
The international chain of coffee shops, Esquires Coffee, is launching its new store in Putney with a grand opening this Thursday, 3 May. They will be based at 287 Putney Bridge Road which was formerly the premises of Putney Canteen. The company which was founded in Canada and has over 100 outlets worldwide describes itself as ethical and says it has a ‘love local’ ethos and taking pride in its community spirit. They say their food and beverage selection is hand crafted and locally sourced to reflect the neighbourhood, whilst supporting other local businesses and suppliers. The ‘Coffee & Kitchen’ concept in Putney is a new direction for the company due to the addition of a development chef and state of the art kitchen, to offer locals broad-ranging, seasonal brunch, lunch and dinner menus as well as a range of freshly-made, cold-press juices made with ‘wonky’ fruit and veg, to help combat food waste. This store will also be the first Esquires Coffee shop to use exclusively compostable packaging. Colin Byers, Operations Manager of Esquires Coffee Putney Bridge says, “We’re so proud to welcome members of the Putney community into our new store, and can’t wait for them to try our delicious food and drink offerings, as well as make use of our additional space for local events.” The grand opening will take place from 3-8pm on Thursday 3 May at Esquires Coffee Putney Bridge, 287 Putney Bridge Road, SW15 2PT.
