New Thai Restaurant Opens in Putney | ||||
Yum Sa aiming for a ‘street-food’ feel on the Upper Richmond Road
A new Thai restaurant has opened right next to the East Putney tube station in the new Plaza Gardens development. Yum Sa was conceived by food entrepreneur Roger Narula and will be his first independent restaurant venture after a career in catering and recipe development. Under his supervision each dish will be carefully researched and designed by Shveta Tuli to create food that aims to be both innovative and authentic. ‘Brand chef’ Jay Shaikh and his team cook in an open kitchen aiming for a ‘street food’ feel to the restaurant. The Mayor of Wandsworth Cllr McDonnell attended the restaurant’s opening earlier this month. The event was supported by the Wandsworth Foodies Programme, an initiative with Wandsworth Borough Council to help local food businesses grow. The opening evening saw a ceremonial blessing and chanting by monks of London’s Buddhist Thai temple.
