Two penalties from fly half Harry Leonard in the first 15 minutes established a 6-0 lead. It took until the 37th minute for the home side to register a try despite enjoying a clear edge over their opponents. Lenard was the scorer after a quickly-taken line out and some neat work by centre Andy Reay.

Just as it looked as if Park would go into the interval with a comfortable 11-0 lead they coughed up a try on the stroke of half-time, through winger Dan Rundle, converted by replacement full-back Will Maisey to cut the lead to 11-7.

Coventry started the second half in determined fashion and took the lead on 45 minutes through a try from replacement Eoghan Grace.

Try time for Park

That lasted for only two minutes until a superb try by Andrew Henderson, converted by Leonard, regained the lead at 18-12.

Maisey pegged back Park with a penalty for 18-15, but it proved to be Coventry’s last throw.

Park came surging back for the pack to drive over for Hugo Ellis to touch down, converted by Leonard for 26-15.The bonus point was pocketed with ten minutes to spare when prop Ali Wade went over, Leonard again converting for 33-15.

Park Forwards Coach, Kieran Power, said:
“This was a vital win for us as we try and climb up the table, by no means was it a polished performance but it is pleasing to get 5 points and know that there is still a lot to come from team as we head into Hull next week”.
