Putney says no to third runway Thousands of shoppers sign HACAN petition
Putney residents have said a firm no to any further expansion at Heathrow. Anti-noise group HACAN said they were overwhelmed by the enthusiastic response to their 'no third runway' roadshow which arrived in Putney High Street on Saturday. Thousands of shoppers took time off to sign a petition urging the Prime Minister to safeguard their quality of life from the threat of more aircraft overhead. Council leader Edward Lister is pictured with HACAN chairman John Stewart and fellow-campaigners.
