A man and a woman were recently seen in the Putney area searching through dustbins. When they realised they were being watched they went away, but it is possible they were looking for information to help them in identity theft. This is a growing problem which you can help to prevent by ensuring that you destroy any personal information on documents before putting them in the bin.

The best way is to use a shredder; these can be bought very cheaply now, and the resulting product can be composted along with your kitchen/garden waste.
