Police appeal for witnesses
Police are appealing for witnesses and information following an assault in Putney.
On Saturday 19 September 2009 between 3am and 3:30am two males were assaulted on Putney High Street SW15 and Chelverton Road SW15.
The victims had gone to B@1 on Putney High Street.
They were on their way home and walked to the bus stop area on Putney High Street.
They sat down on a bench next to a group of girls. There were males nearby.
One of the males who appeared to be with the girls asked them why they had sat down next to them.
A disagreement followed with one of the males who then punched the first victim in the face. This caused him to fall over and hit his head on a metal railing.
The group of approx. 5 males and 3 females started to run off.
The second victim chased the group up one of the side roads, possibly Felsham Road or Lacy Road, whilst calling the ambulance and the police.
The last thing he remembers was chasing the male who had assaulted his friend and two females.
They were running down Chelverton Road back towards Putney High Street when victim 2 was then attacked by the male on Chelverton Road.
The suspect is described as white with short hair wearing a white shirt.
The females are described as white (one was wearing a short dark dress/skirt.)
Another male member of the group was described as in his mid-late 20’s, black, with short hair, greyish top and jeans.
Both victims’ had broken jaws and injuries to head.
